The SDC EP493 is an explosion-proof emergency release station designed for secure access control systems operating in hazardous environments where flammable gases, vapors, or combustible materials may be present. It provides a reliable manual emergency door release solution for facilities such as chemical plants, refineries, clean rooms, laboratories, and industrial processing areas.
Built with a rugged weather-resistant housing, the EP493 helps prevent sparks or electrical arcing that could create hazards in classified environments. The unit is UL classified for hazardous locations, including Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C, D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, G; and Class III, with a NEMA Type 4X outdoor rating for enhanced durability in demanding installations.
The pull station features a momentary activation design with a latching mechanism to provide immediate emergency door release control. It includes DPDT contacts, a durable die-cast housing, terminal block connections, and supports integration with compatible access control systems and SDC explosion-proof locking devices.
